I don’t know about you, but as a Mother to two toddler girls, I don’t get a lot of me time. Being a Mother is a full time job – 24/7. Sometimes a Mother just needs a break. I know I do. If I get an hour or two of me time, I’d be happy with that. Not that I don’t love being with my girls. There are some days where I’ve had it and need some time to myself. Have you had those types of days?
What do you do for some me time? Where do you go? Shopping? It’s a whole lot easier to shop without kids. Salon? It’s always fun to get your hair cut/styled or your nails done. Spa? It’s great to be the one who is getting pampered.
Since having my girls, having a spa day has been on my list to do. I had ‘spa day’ on my wishlist several times. For Christmas, my husband bought me a gift card to the spa at Spa-D Athena. Spa-D Athena offers many services in their salon and spa.
I knew what spa treatments I wanted right away. It was just a matter of making an appointment. The right moment didn’t come for me to get away. There was always something going on. I talked about making an appointment for months. It just didn’t happen.
Several weeks ago, I really needed a break and get some time to myself. So I thought I had to make an appointment right away. I checked with my husband’s schedule for the week, so he could watch the girls. I called and made an appointment for the next week for a massage and relaxing bath. Finally! I was so excited!
My day at the spa was last Friday. I was guided to the dressing room and was given a robe to put on. I sat in the cozy sitting area listening to relaxing music while waiting for my massage to start. Once I was on the massage table, I closed my eyes to relax and listened to the soft music playing in the background. I was given a 50 minute head-to-toe relief massage. The massage was very relaxing and felt very good on my back.
Next, I went to take my relaxing bath in their Jacuzzi tub. There was relaxing music playing and there was a glass of ice water with a frozen strawberry inside waiting for me. I laid my head back and relaxed for 20 minutes in the bath with eucalyptus oil and starfruit salt. I don’t get to relax in a bath very often, so it felt great to just sit there and not worry about a thing.
Overall, I enjoyed my spa day at Spa-D Athena. I will be definitely coming back in the future to get another massage.
Have you ever been to the spa? Would you love to get pampered at the spa? I’d definitely recommend it. The experience is so worth it.
I need a spa day! Thank you for sharing this post at City of Creative Dream’s City of Links last Friday! I appreciate you taking the time to party with me. Hope to see you again this week 🙂
A spa day is so relaxing!
You know, I’ve never had a spa day. I do like getting my hair done at a fancy salon though 🙂
It’s fun to get your hair done. Your hair feels so fresh and new when you leave the salon.
