True Love Thursday is a weekly post series on the subject of love. I’ll talk about loving yourself and others to ways to making yourself a better person.
Welcome to another day of the All You Need Is Love Project by Carmen at ShuGar Love.
This week’s topic is: Let’s dedicate this post to our Mothers. Check out last week’s topic.
Yesterday, I dedicated my post to all the Mothers. Today, this post is dedicated to my Mother.
My Mother is a Mother to eight children – three boys and five girls (me as the youngest). Below are couple pictures of my family when I was almost two years old on Easter 1990. Don’t you love the early 90s?
I’m very proud of my Mother what she had to do to take care of us eight kids. I bet it helped to have the older kids help take care of the younger ones. I know it was a lot of work. I didn’t really realize what she had to do until I was older. Now that I have two girls of my own, I know what she went through. I couldn’t imagine eight kids running around the house.
Fast forward to December 31, 2010. This is a picture of my Mother and I on my wedding day. This is a picture of my Mother before we knew something was up with my Mother’s health in 2011.
In January 2012, we found out my Mother had stage three lymphoma. She had a big tumor on her neck in her lymph nodes and also little tumors in her stomach area. My Mother went through 6 long tough months of chemo. In July she was in remission and was cancer free.
Here is a picture of my Mother in August 2013. She is holding Sophia when she was 6 months old. Doesn’t my Mother look great? Today my Mother is still cancer free and it will be 2 years in July.
On this Mother’s Day, I’m especially grateful that my Mother beat cancer and is still here.
How are you showing your appreciation to your Mother on Mother’s Day?
So touching…This is a great post. Your mom is AWESOME for beating cancer! 🙂
Thanks! I’m so proud of her beating cancer! 🙂
So am I!!!
What a blessing to have your mama with you and cancer free! Yay to her! She is so beautiful. Eight kids…amazing! Now that is a true superhero. Tell your mama she looks so lovely holding her grandchild. I plan on showing my mama as much love as I can on this day and every day. We also plan on giving her some of her favorite treats since she never really treats herself. Happy Mama’s Day!
Thanks! I don’t get to see my Mom enough since we don’t live in the state. I’m definitely going to call her tomorrow!
Oh I love this! You have one strong Mother raising 8 children and being cancer free for almost 2 years! Such a beautiful post dedicated to her and I enjoyed reading about your relationship with her!
Thanks! She’s a great Mom!
