Welcome to another day of the All You Need Is Love Project by Carmen at ShuGar Love.

This week’s topic is: What is your favorite love story – true or fictional? Check out last week’s topic.

When I thought about this question, the love story of Carl and Ellie from Pixar’s Up movie came to mind.

You can’t help to fall in love with the couple as you watch their love story. Carl and Ellie both idolized an explorer and loved adventures. Ellie confined in Carl that she had a desire to move her clubhouse to a cliff overlooking Paradise Falls.

Carl and Ellie eventually got married. They wanted to have children, but they weren’t able to conceive. That didn’t stop them from having their own adventure. They enjoyed fixing their house together, having picnics in the park, and sitting next to each other with a book and reading.

Carl wanted to fulfill his promise to travel to South America, so he created a savings for a trip to Paradise Falls. As an elderly Carl, he was finally able to make plans for the trip. Before he could tell Ellie, she suddenly became ill and died. Carl still wanted to fulfill his promise to Ellie even though she couldn’t join him. He went on an adventure to place their house on a cliff overlooking Paradise Falls.

Even though this love story is little sad, it’s still beautiful. Have you seen Pixar’s Up movie yet? If not, you should. It is definitely a great movie to watch over and over again.

Do you love this love story? What is your favorite love story – true or fictional?

  1. This movie is so good! I was surprised at how much I liked it because I’m not a huge animated film person. Oh, that love sequence is the best ever. I cried so much…I didn’t want her to die! Excellent choice because it really shows love never dies, but instead lives on forever.
