Confessions of the Perfect Mom

ConfessionsofthePerfectMom

This week I am featuring a mommy blogger on the blog. Meet Kat at Confessions of the Perfect Mom. I’ve been following Kat’s blog for several months now. She posts anything on motherhood to beauty and fashion. I look forward each day to read posts from Confessions of the Perfect Mom.

I asked Kat several questions to help us get to know her better.

1. Tell me little bit about yourself.

Talking about my girls, easy. Talking about makeup, really easy. Talking about myself not so much lol.

With that being said, lets give this a try. I am a thirty-something mama to three wonderful little girls, with whom I get the joy of staying home with. I love makeup and fashion; really all things girlie. If it was acceptable I would even wear the tutus and tiaras out and about with my kids. When I get a moment (which is few and far between with homeschooling the girls, trying to get my blog rolling, and trying to keep up with the house), I love to read and will read just about anything that I can get my hands on. From the Bible, to the Koran, to the Dali Lama’s writings, to paranormal romance, to Hunger Games. If I can get it, I will read it. My hubby teases me that I am terrible stay at home mama; since the house is always a mess, I can’t get dinner on the table to save my life, and I have been known to go buy more socks instead of just doing the laundry. LOL.

That is pretty much me 🙂

2. Why do you blog?

I blog to have something for me. A while back I had a very good friend of mine asked me, “Now that you stay home, what do you do?”. I smiled and said I take care of the home, I cook, I school my girls. She quickly cut me off, “No I mean, what do you do for YOU?”. And I had no answer. I very quickly lost myself to being a wife and a mommy. While I LOVE both of those roles, and would not trade them for anything. I felt like I lost Kat. Blogging gave me a space to be me again.

3. How does being a mother make you a better person?

Becoming a mother changed EVERYTHING about me. I went from being a very selfish person, to someone who thought only about a little persons needs. I became a person that I would want my girls to be.

4. What is your favorite thing to do with your kids?

This list would be endless. Hehehehe. But my favorite today would be “Princess Party” time. We sit around the table and I bring out all my demo makeup kits. We get all glammed up, and then dance around the house to whatever music is on the radio.

5. What tip would you give to a new mom?

That everything passes. It may seem like it won’t and that you are at your wits end, but it will pass. I promise they won’t scream through the night at 20, and they will be potty trained by the time they go off to college. Everything will pass.

Thank you Kat for answering these questions! We love your answers!

  1. What a beautiful mommy bloggy friend! I will start following her. I like what she said about blogging to do something for yourself. Although I will be a working mom, blogging provides me that same reward. I love that princess party idea! I would love to see that in action. Super sweet!

  2. Thank you for sharing this post at City of Creative Dream’s City of Links on Friday! I appreciate you taking the time to party with me. Hope to see you again this week 🙂
