OXO Good Grips Complete Slicer & Grater

What type of slicer/grater do you own? Do you own a general grater or do you own a mandolin? Have you thought of buying a vegetable slicer/grater, but don’t know which one to buy?

I have a slicer/grater for you! And it works well! The OXO Good Grips Complete slicer and grater.

I found this OXO Good Grips Complete slicer and grater on clearance at Kohl’s after Christmas. I’ve been wanting a veggie slicer for the past year. I have their veggie spiralizer and love it. So when I found their slicer and grater, I was really excited to try it out.

The OXO Good Grips slicer and grater has four different options: slice, julienne, shred, and finally shred. It comes with a container to store all four blades. Plus a lid to cover it, which is also used when slicing or grating. All you have to do is snap the bland insert on top on the container. After your vegetable is ready to be sliced or grated, place the vegetable on the food holder and start slicing/grating.

I’ve been able to use the OXO Good Grips slicer/grater are multiple occasions. It has been really nice to be able to the slicer/grater instead of cutting vegetables by hand. I love that all the pieces can be stored all in one place. Plus having the container for the vegetables to land in when sliced/grated is very helpful in keeping everything together and cuts down on the mess.

I started out using the slicer and julienne attachment option. I sliced a whole onion and julienned a carrot. These two attachments are my favorite options to use. The onions were sliced perfectly – nice and thin. These thinner onions cook quicker than when I slice them by hand. The sauted onions are perfect for placing on top of hot dogs/chicken sausages. I cut a carrot in half and julienne each one at a time. As the carrot goes through the julienne option, it comes out in slices, but each slice is cut into skinny sticks. All you have to do is pull the sticks apart. I julienne carrots all the time and it usually takes awhile to get a whole carrot julienned by hand – especially when I julienne three carrots for my chicken (or shrimp) carrot salad (let me know if you would like the recipe).

I used the slicer option on the OXO Good Grips slicer/grater for slicing zucchini and yellow squash. I use the sliced vegetables for my zucchini and yellow squash dill salad (let me know if you would like the recipe). I start out by cutting each zucchini and yellow squash in half and cut off the ends. Each slice of the vegetables are the perfect thickness – it’s not too thin or too thick. When I would slice the zucchini and yellow squash lengthwise by hand, it was hard to cut the perfect thickness.

I also used the grater option on the OXO Good Grip slicer/grater to grate a carrot. The grater option works well just like any grater. It’s a little easier to use the grater while it’s horizontal rather than vertical.

Overall I love my OXO Good Grips Complete slicer and grater. It’s definitely worth the purchase. You can find this slicer/grater online at Amazon or go to your nearest Target. Buy it today!

Is this OXO Good Grips slicer and grater something you would use in your kitchen? Are you going to buy one?
