Hi! This is Anna and I blog over at My Bathrooms blog. I am very thankful to Julie for allowing me to post on her blog. As I love to talk about bathroom decor; I would keep my focus on bathroom only! I have arranged a few ideas which can convert any regular bathroom into a perfect stylish bathroom with just 5 easy changes!

Of all the rooms in the home, the bathroom is the first to show signs of wear and tear, decor-wise. Therefore, you should always keep a portion of your housekeeping and decor funds aside for bathroom renovation. Plan on completely redoing your bathroom every five years or refreshing it every two years or so: in this way your bathroom will always look great and any plumbing wear and tear will be spotted in good time for economical repairs. Here are some tips for a quick and easy bathroom restyle!

1. Hook Level

Why not stagger your towel hooks on the wall or back of the bathroom door? This has a dual benefit in the bathroom, firstly giving each towel more room to hang and dry out and secondly, creating an attractive and unusual pattern which will draw the eye and create a miniature focal point.

2. Accessory After the Fact?

Invest in a new accessory set periodically. Having all-matching hand wash and soap dispensers, toothbrush holder and trinket pot give every bathroom a beautifully completed look. Enhance this effect by choosing a beautiful and elegant set in colors that harmonize with the bathroom’s decor scheme.

3. Float a Shelf or Two

Install a small shelf above the loo; high enough so no-one bangs their head on standing up after using the facilities, but low enough to attractively showcase the items placed upon it. In this way you create extra storage for small items or provide a home for a line of decorative plants or figurines. The latter is charming and attractive, bringing some much-needed frivolity into the bathroom.

4. Fabric Match

Ensure that your towels and soft furnishings all work well together, matching them to the decor color scheme. For example, if your bathroom is green and cream, opt for towels, face-cloths and even shower caps in those colors, especially if they are hung up to dry in a prominent place. In this way, it seems as though absolutely everything within the bathroom falls into the chosen color scheme which helps to pull all the décor together into one polished package. It is important to not underestimate the visual impact that this will have, transforming your bathroom from hard-used and practical to aesthetically pleasing and inviting.

5. Flowering Beauty

Every bathroom needs flowers! They can be fresh (which is preferential for their beautiful looks and fresh and natural fragrance) or fake; which means that even those with excessively sensitive noses and lungs can enjoy the beauty of flowers without having to suffer sneezing and wheezing fits every time they visit the bathroom! Whichever option you choose, be sure to throw out your fresh flowers at the first sign of decay and replace them, while dusty and tattered artificial blooms can be almost as depressing as dead or dying live flowers!
