Words on Parenting Wednesday is a weekly post series on the subject of parenting. I’ll talk about any adventures we have with our girls to motherhood experiences to fun and games for children.
Couple months ago I was contacted by a publisher named Angie at St Martin’s Press. She thought I might be interested in reading the book Cutting Teeth by Julia Fierro, so she sent me a digital copy of the novel. Julia follows my blog and asked her publisher to reach out to me. I felt very honored to have a chance to read Julia Fierro’s novel and review it.
Just by looking at the cover, I wasn’t exactly sure what Cutting Teeth was about. All I knew is that the novel was about parenthood and the struggles. I skimmed quotes and the summary of the novel to get an understanding what Cutting is really about.
Below is a quick summary of Cutting Teeth.
Cutting Teeth is a fictional novel about a group of five couples, along with their young children, who gather at a shabby beach house during a weekend. Each character is dealing with dilemmas in their own life and their children’s life. They are struggling with life, but they are trying their best to be the best parent to their children. Their is tension among all the characters, which ultimately breaks the group.

Now that I had the basis of the plot of Cutting Teeth, I knew what to expect when I started reading. Cutting Teeth instantly caught my attention when I began reading. I didn’t exactly relate to each character’s situation in life as parents, but I understood their struggles parenthood brought them. I know that parenthood can be tough and your life isn’t the same as before you had children. A parent has to make the best out of their situation.
